I developed and delivered staff-wide professional development, including in-person and online instructor-led training, using principles of adult learning in order to measurably improve outcomes for a wide variety of learners. I used a recursive process to analyze learner needs, design and implement creative, engaging online and in-person learning experiences, and assess effectiveness of instruction. I supported and supervised 22 teachers and curriculum developers. In addition, I collaborated with a team of teachers to develop Henrico County Public Schools' curriculum for 8th grade ELA.

I developed online communications, screencast and video demonstrations, in-person training, and mock lessons to educate volunteer mentor-tutors on new engineering and humanities curricula and ensure smooth implementation across 13 after-school centers in three cities. I collected and analyzed user feedback to improve instructional materials.

Richmond, Virginia Area

I provided onboarding, training, feedback, and supervision for a team of 38 adult mentors delivering STEM and Humanities instruction at an academic after-school program. I curated a weekly newsletter and completed graphic design projects including flyers and instructional aids. I planned and coordinated events for groups of 70-200 students and mentors. I used data-driven strategic planning models to set and achieve objectives to improve mentor attendance, effectiveness, and engagement.

Lubbock, Texas

I collaborated with a team of Ph. D. candidates and faculty from the Texas Tech University Literacy Champions in a year-long research project investigating effective strategies to increase student mastery and engagement in reading and writing. We designed targeted instruction that included a multi-sensory approach, small group instruction and stations-based classroom structures, and a modified Writer's Workshop process. I had the honor of working with our English department team and the Literacy Champions to earn state-designated Academic Achievement distinction in English Language Arts for the 2017-2018 school year. Additionally, I served as cooperating teacher for a student teacher, mentoring her in curriculum development and classroom management.

I developed and implemented a dyslexia intervention program for middle- and high-school students; cross-referenced multiple data sources (including teacher-administered phonics assessments) to assess student strengths and needs; provided personalized, multi-sensory, small-group literacy instruction; modified instruction to accommodate for students with specific learning differences in addition to dyslexia, such as ADHD and auditory processing disorders; maintained meticulous records of student data and progress; shared relevant reading strategies with content area staff to ensure student skill transfer.
