Through Razan Abdin-Adnani Consulting and Coaching, LLC, I offer educational consulting, coaching, and curriculum development services that center around holistic, culturally-responsive, developmentally-appropriate practices. I work primarily with Pre-K-12 school leaders and educators and have also partnered with families and caregivers, colleges and universities, and non-profit organizations/non-governmental agencies.*RAACC is an approved contracted vendor of the New York City Department of Education .

I served as a long-term substitute in an Honors II English class for 9th and 10th graders while completing my English Language Arts and Reading certification (Grades 7-12) through ECAP.My primary responsibilities were:-Implementing the lesson plans left by the teacher.-Reviewing lesson plans with the team lead and department head.-Taking all necessary reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.-Utilizing effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.-Establishing and maintaining professional communication with parents, students, and district personnel; ensuring that all interactions are supportive, courteous, and respectful.-Complying with all policies, operating procedures, legal requirements, and verbal and written directives.

Contracted by The Literary Safari to develop a culturally-responsive LanguageArts curriculum for McGraw Hill Education.

-Implemented an inquiry-based curriculum, guided by theories of constructivism and social constructivism.-Documented the process and elevated the visibility of children’s ideas and theories-Communicated with families daily regarding the classroom work and learning-Conducted parent-teacher conferences twice per year-Hosted curriculum nights and parent workshop events-Engaged thoughtfully and collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents-Reflected on own teaching practice; developed and worked toward goals.

The Harlem Playspace and Learning Center was a pilot project of a planned Early Childhood Center (ECC) in Harlem. Housed in the large, street level room of a brownstone on East 129th street, it was designed to be a free, appealing, safe, developmentally appropriate, facilitated play space where children 0 - 3 can explore their environment accompanied by their parents/caregivers who can learn how to be their child's first teachers.

-Established and maintained a developmentally appropriate classroom forchildren ages 4-5.-Developed and maintained positive relationships with children and parents-Adapted teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and skills ofchildren-Collaborated with co-teachers and other staff members-Documented and maintained records on each child’s learning and development-Facilitated various activities for children including songs, games, and storytelling
