I created partnerships with external organizations, from brand agencies to corporates, with a view to increasing London Sport’s revenue as well as investment going in to grassroots physical activity and sport in London. I reported to the CEO and managed the insight, policy, innovation, business development, fundraising and relationship management elements of the charity, to include managing the staff delivering those functions. I was a high level budget holder and I authorized spend. I regularly delivered presentations, key notes and workshops to senior executives across a range of sectors and I was one of three media spokespeople for the charity with experience in television, radio and print interviews.I was responsible for income generation through both traditional fundraising, as well as by forming a trading subsidiary to deliver consultancy to the sport sector. I ensured that we met our commitments to key stakeholders and funders to include Sport England, Department of Health and various corporate investors. I was responsible for managing the budget for the department and authorizing all spend.As chair of the Operational Management Group (comprising all ‘Heads’), I managed operational optimization and the implementation of new business, as well as the development of strategic plans and risk registers for each team. All plans had to link to the Foundation’s overall strategy and be delivered in line with the values of the organization. It was my responsibility to guide the organization through the annual production of these, and subsequently through the quarterly plan and risk reviews.I represented the Foundation with key football and sporting bodies such as the Football Association, the Premier League and Sport England, as well as on national and local radio broadcasts. I managed the relationship between the Foundation and Barclays for whom I designed a three year strategy - and work plan for its delivery – in order to ensure sustainability of the 202 community sports sites the bank has invested in.
