As a planning assistant I tended to current projects that the Office of Community and Economic Development was working on. Some of those projects included the renovation of Rome's Mohawk River waterfront and the development of several new parks in the city. In addition to working on projects, I aided in securing funds for those projects through grant writing. I worked on a grant to bring a canoe and kayaking program for local youths to the City of Rome. Both of those grants were funded for just over $20,000.00. In addition, I was the manager and supervisor of the weekly Rome Farmers Market which included roughly 35 vendors. My role included communicating with all vendors as well as supervising both the events weekly logistics as well as the Franklin's Field grounds crew. As a member of the office, I also aided in the implementation of Rome's new brand. logo, and motto: "Building Rome."During my time in the office, I also wrote a grant for the City of Rome to invest in a bike share program through which the City purchases bikes that could be rented out by its citizens. The grant was approved and the bike share program has now taken hold in the City of Rome.
