Our role at ECVO is to support the social profit sector towards transformation and resilient, healthy communities. My work includes some of our leadership programs and initiatives, advocacy and strategy and systems change thinking.

I worked on the Communicable Disease Control team within AHS in partnership with acute care sites, congregate care facilities, Infection Prevention & Control and Workplace/Occupational Health and Safety to manage, control and accurately report on COVID-19 outbreaks. I also worked with the epidemiology team to complete outbreak reports for notable outbreaks since the start of the pandemic.

Qualitative data analysis to understand the experiences of residents and their families in continuing care sites in Alberta during the most restrictive phase of the COVID-19 pandemic.Policy analysis of the Chief Medical Officer of Health orders that provided guidance to continuing care sites to limit COVID-19 transmission.

My role at AAISA was the engagement lead for Edmonton based newcomer-serving organizations. My responsibilities and tasks included developing strategic partnerships, performing strategic analysis, coordinating projects that aimed to improve service delivery for newcomers, and event planning.In this role we worked with the federal ministry, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, as well as provincial and municipal governments.

As a community garden coordinator I assisted the Food Security Program Coordinator with organizing the garden for the summer of 2017. This included identifying research and training opportunities, identifying and applying for grants, networking and assisting with purchasing supplies.

I worked for Dr. Stephanie Montesanti to provide research support on two projects: refugee health outcomes in Edmonton and Calgary, and "Indigenous Health and Resilience through Disaster" which is exploring the health impacts of the Fort McMurray wildfires in northern Alberta.

As the Communications Officer for the School of Public Health's students association (SPHSA) I am responsible for recording and uploading meeting minutes; managing the SPHSA email and social media accounts; communicating with the School of Public Health Marketing and Communications team; assisting with organizing SPHSA meetings and participating in SPHSA activities and decision making.

I developed the School of Public Health Partnerships Project. The goal of this project was to collect information on Public Health faculty's service, practice and research partnerships in order to build on them internally and promote the school externally.

I worked as a research assistant on several projects looking at the evolution of Thermotogales bacteria. In our research lab I was responsible for isolating and culturing the anaerobic bacteria, DNA extraction, PCR and full genome sequencing. I also performed annotation and analysis of the completed genomes. I presented our work at the American Society for Microbiology General Meeting in Boston in 2014.
