As an Engineering Specialist at Wind River, I consult customers and help them solve difficult technical problems. I have over 10 years experience with Linux with a special focus on networking and security. Through my work with the Wind River On-Board program I have also been involved with BSP development for Hypervisor and VxWorks, as well as with enhancing the out-of-box customer experience.

As Section Secretary, my role is to act as a bridge between the IEEE and its members in Ottawa. I'm responsible for maintaining meeting records and submitting reports on our activities to the IEEE. I also am involved in a leadership capacity in the Executive Committee and gather critical data to facilitate decision making.

The IEEE Ottawa Robotics Competition introduces engineering and robotics to students in grades 5 to 12 by presenting a fun and instructive approach to problem solving. Using LEGO® MINDSTORMS NXT® kits, the students have around 8 weeks to design and build an autonomous robot that competes in a tournament event against other schools.As Chair it is my responsibility to manage all the logistics including the venue, sponsors, volunteers, participation, and the challenges themselves. The most rewarding part of the whole experience is the satisfaction of working with the kids and watching the excitement on their faces as they learn how to build and program the robots.

As Club President, I was responsible for leading the club executive and maintaining a positive club environment for our members. This included encouraging members along the Toastmasters Education program and supporting the club members to achieve our President's Distinguished Club status.

Debugged user-space and kernel-space problems on embedded devices (PPC, ARM, x86). Integrated an existing package management tool into Wind River Linux. Actively sought out ways to improve the build system to save time for our customers and co-workers.

Analyzed the Passport IP Routing software for source code changes which could be made to decrease costs spent maintaining the software. Safely automated changes on over 100,000 lines of code and performed verification to ensure that no software functionality was lost or affected.
