Oversaw a group of 16 reports, including ECAD, Model Shop, CAD/CAM administration, Change Management (ECR/ECO) and Software Quality Assurance. ∙ Led the development of a new design, Total Residual Oxidant (TRO) analyzer, for off-shore oil and gas production and transportation environments. This resulted in a growth opportunity for the company with $2.5MM revenue the first year. > Certified Intrinsically Safe (ATEX Ex iB IIc). > Accelerated project from 30 to 9 months to capture the business of a key ballast water disinfection provider. ∙ Initiated new automated model shop workflow process, using VSM and TPI (Kaizen) tools. ∙ Reduced the ECO process function head count by 50%, while maintaining throughput.

Led a multi-disciplined engineering team to design and develop servo track writing equipment for internal business and contract manufacturing customers.∙ Reinvented the STW team to become the group that was sought by other product development teams for consultation and problem solving.∙ Repaired a damaged relationship with a key external customer, creating a successful partnership for knowledge sharing that benefited both companies' product development efforts.∙ Developed an industry-first, Wi-Fi-enabled, battery powered storage device representing $25M in estimated revenue. Performed the product selection, business case, requirements management, staffing, schedule, budgets and testing.> Implemented a phase gate process to control this high risk activity: Discovery, Proof of Concept, Business Case, Design/Testing, and NPI.> Met milestones for CES-ready demonstration units (example proof of concept in < 6 weeks).> Project execution time of 20 months from idea to pilot production with full supply chain and quality systems in place.

Directed an engineering team responsible for medical device development and facilitated all aspects of the process from problem definition to producing functional devices and software.∙ Initiated several successful technology development programs; worked directly with physicians and nurses to define needs and requirements, resulting in better patient care in hospital settings.∙ Managed the installation of two centralized patient physiological monitoring systems, including the coordination of facilities (cables pulls and network room preparation), nursing staff, and installation team to install equipment in patient rooms and nurse stations and commissioning.∙ Established the first project management framework for the Division of Engineering based on PEMBOK defined processes and documents.∙ Developed and implemented the first centralized document control system in the Division of Engineering.

Led the development of a high density, modular track writer. Redesigned 3 of the 4 PCBAs on an existing STW platform to enable this platform to support future disk drive programs. ∙ Made changes including new read and write channels, new spin motor controllers, and special circuits to accommodate new disk drive physical features. ∙ Performed extensive work to reduce noise in the power distribution subsystem, PLL noise and response, and isolating high impedance low voltage signals from power circuits that were co-located within cables and PCBAs.∙ Delivered on time and within expected budget; created notable patents related to servo track writers.
