Profile bio

About Ryan Spring

I am currently investigating how to synthesize and automatically tune high-performance deep learning models using machine learning. Also, I am building sophisticated question-answering (QA) models, powered by large-scale language models. My Ph.D. thesis focused on how to train large-scale machine learning models efficiently through randomized hashing. My long-term research goal is to create robust AI/ML algorithms, such as self-driving cars, advanced robotics, and smart virtual assistants, that interact safely with human beings in a wide range of dynamic environments.

Jun 2016 - Aug 2016

Phd Research Intern

Hampton, Virginia, US

My project is to design a software system to monitor the dynamics of aerial vehicles. The monitor is a constant-space real-time embedded program that determines if a vehicle is obeying the safety constraints set by the designer. The purpose of the project is allow other, high-performance controllers to run on airplanes while maintaining the same level of.
