I have 27 years experience as a process engineer, a manufacturing engineer or in operations management. I’ve worked for Esterline for over 14 years, 12 of which has been in the Coeur d’Alene Idaho facility (Advanced Input Systems). I have a strong background in tool design, machining, compression molding, pad printing, screen printing, plastics, and composites. While at AIS I directly supported four different departments (pad print, screen print, compression molding and the machine shop) and for two of those years supported all four at one time. For approximately 8 years I worked as a supervisor, part time programmer, part time machinist, scheduler and purchased all supplies for the machine shop. I’ve designed over 100 compression molds, multiple “bed of nails” type electrical assemblies, and hundreds of simple tools and fixtures to support production and test needs. Highlights of some of my other experiences include:• Introduced over $16 million in various prototypes assemblies to production for use in private and business commuter aircraft.• Coordinated move of $1.3 million Microswitch Integrated Panel business purchase.• Re-designed components on daylight and night vision compatible integrated switch panels resulting in an annual savings of $100K production costs with a 15% reduction in cycle time.• Selected, and approved purchase of over $270K in capital equipment.• Serve as liaison to IDD suppliers and customers.• Designed and fabricated over 150 production tools used in assembling aircraft flight components.• Method sheets (pictorial documentation) reduced training time by 1/3 and improved product quality by 28% by providing inspection steps throughout the build.• Reduced pad printing costs by 82%

Senior Process EngineerEsterline Interface Technologies Jun 2007 - Jul 2019Coeur D' Alene, IdMentor, Molding Expert, Tool Designer, Machinist, Programmer, Technical Writer● Orchestrated purchase, installation and vertical integrated a CNC machine shop. Its purchase reduced outsourced services by 87% with an average reduction in lead time of 67%. A total savings of more than $1.3 million annually. ● Designed quick turn compression molds, test and assembly fixtures that were instrumental in awarding over $42 million in new product over a 7 year period.● Mentored manufacturing and process engineers, provided expedient technical support to all departments whenever required.● Increased profits for all pad printed parts by 22%, decreased lead time for printing keysets by 80% and reduced printing expenses by 43%.● Reduced setup time by 48% in the machine shop by designing quick change tooling.● Collaborate with design teams, test groups and vendors to ensure product development using DFM/DFMA to reduce manufacturing costs without compromising quality.● Authored and justified $150,000 milling machine purchase with a ROI of 110% at 2 years.● Successfully coordinated new shop layout, transport, crane service, electrical/air installation, calibration and qualification of 2 CNC milling machines. Project came in 18% under budget and 1 week ahead of schedule.● Managed a machine shop, purchased all necessary materials/machine and inspection tools, scheduled jobs, alternate programmer. ● Reduced compression molding documentation by 75% by eliminating and combining documents. -
Senior Manufacturing EngineerHexcel Corporation Jan 2006 - Jun 2007Kent, Wa● Contributed compression molding expertise/tool design for Boeing 787 aircraft.● Instrumental in creating a mold design standard, contacting vendors and tool acceptance of 30 molds in a 6-month span to support a multimillion-dollar contract. -
Senior Advanced Manufacturing EngineerRockwell Collins (Formerly Airshow) Mar 2003 - Jan 2006Kirkland, Wa• Worked directly with Design Engineers to provide proof of design from concept to production by supplying manufacturability and material information. Airshow (Rockwell Collins) provided entertainment, cabin environment controls and other related assemblies for business and commuter aircraft.• Created digital multilingual assembly procedure sheets prior to introducing assemblies to production.• Detailed Lean production layout and flow resulting in 30% less floor space and 53% time savings.• Transitioned $25 million in production assemblies to Rockwell’s Mexicali, Mexico facility.
