It took me three years as a leader to realise service design is not predominantly focused on meeting the needs of the people we are there to serve. This view has become the driving force for me as a leader and manager. Since then, I have had the privilege of hand-picking new staff for a new service, twice. My journey has involved remodeling community teams, setting up services, addressing systemic issues and undertaking systems reform.I walk the walk and lead by living live the expectations and doing what I expect other staff to do.Having successfully developed high performing, self-sustaining team – I do myself out of a job.As a management consultant my focus is on building people, programs, and services, to ultimately achieve better health, social and welfare outcomes for the people we are here to serve, providing expert strategic and organisational transformation services to SMEs, public and NFPsI am a Committee Chair, Non Executive Director and Director with over ten years of board level experience across the public, commercial & not for profit sectors with particular experience in developing high performance teams and quality service delivery. My board experience is predominantly in the NFP Social, health and welfare sectors.I hold a Master of Health Service Administration and am a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course.I am a dynamic executive with significant expertise and accomplishments in organisational architecture, system change, leadership, strategy implementation and performance improvement and execution. With a consistent track record of re-engineering processes I have made an outstanding contribution through high impact strategies that influence advancements in policy, practice, and processes. I have exceeded in highly demanding environments through astute policy implementation, setting high standards, optimising operational efficiency, and adopting industry leading approaches. On reflection, my experience shapes who I am:• I like being ‘stupid busy’ – and although I thought this was not evident to staff, it was.• People are the most important.• I love change, and the process of bringing staff along.• For me, leadership is about the people, management is about the processes.• Always see the events, circumstances, behaviour through the other person’s lens.About: realiseyourvision.com.auFollow:Facebook: @realiseyourvisionTwitter: @RealiseVisionInstagram: realiseyourvision
