For the past five years I've worked remotely very successfully. Our teams were completely virtual, so meetings, comms, and one-on-ones were all done using teams, Slack, or Skype. After 10 years of full time with Microsoft, I've found that I was more productive working from home that I was in the office.I've built my career by taking on new challenges, learning new technologies, and solving problems with solutions that work. In most of my jobs, I carve out niches in areas the others either don't think about or can't do, such as streamlining rote processes. In my current role, I've developed 5 apps in C# that allow me to do things in seconds or minutes that would take hours if not days to do manually. As a self-taught developer, writer, and photographer, I analyze what needs to be done and I do it. I work well with people, crossing boundaries between the technical and non-technical to make technology understandable to the right audience.
