•Manage all aspects of the Trust’s surface estate in Southcentral Alaska as the Southcentral Lands Manager.•Work collaboratively as part of a three person “Lands Unit” that is statutorily charged with developing economic opportunities and management of stewardship obligations on Trust Land.•Work jointly with other resource units (Mineral & Energy, Timber, Commercial Real Estate, GIS & Title) in the office through all facets of day-to-day business and overlapping projects. •Provide oversight and management of Trust lands with regard to stewardship, monitoring land use trends, resolving trespass, and authorizing encroachment issues.•Generate principle and income revenues through the issuance of permit/licenses, easements, leases, and land sales (negotiated, competitive, and over-the-counter)•Managed all aspects of the Trust’s Statewide Land Sales Programs.•Created the Trust’s Statewide Easements Program to gain new revenue through authorizing trespass utility infrastructure.•Work closely with local, state, and federal officials regarding land use regulations and zoning and their impacts to Trust land.•Administer office protocols to manage Trust land via the use of hard copy and digital files and a variety of mapping and GIS applications and tools.•Manage, evaluate, and design subdivision development on Trust land across Southcentral for inclusion in the Statewide lands program. Work with surveyors, engineers, appraisers, and local platting authority to complete all aspects of subdivision development.•Support other programs in the lands unit as needed including the Competitive Lease Program, Big Game Guiding Permit Program, and General Permit Program.•Draft and deliver presentations to the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority CEO and Board of Trustees at quarterly board meetings on Lands Unit programs and consultations for disposals of Trust Land.

•Analyzed and evaluated Division wide permitting. Updated and standardized applications, stipulations, permitting policies, and guiding Director’s Orders. •Reviewed, noticed (public & agency), processed, and adjudicated Special Park Use Permits and Commercial Use Permits, primarily on state-owned Title 41 Legislatively Designated Park Lands involving guided hunting/fishing, motor coach operation, scientific research, filming, equipment rentals, aircraft transportation, and any other non-compatible use under authority of AS 41.21.020.•Managed over 250 total land use authorizations using a variety of software applications including: LAS, Alaska Mapper, State of Alaska Revenue & Billing system, AllTopo, ArcMap, Excel, and Word.•Served as Division Manager for Public Records Requests filed under the Alaska Public Records Act. •Served as Division Representative to interdepartmental GIS technical working group.•Represented the Director at meetings and teleconferences when could not attend. Performed other tasks as assigned by the Director in a special assistant role. •Coordinated division wide park management inventory and conversion to GIS data with Information Resource Management within the department.•Coordinated division wide switch to online permitting for commercial use permits with Departmental programming staff.•Inventoried division wide Special Park Use Permits to identify potential disposals of interest. When a disposal was identified, worked with the Department of Law to determine best course of action.

•Review, notice (public & agency), process, and adjudicate Land Use Permits (LUP), primarily on state-owned tide, submerged, and shore land involving commercial moorings buoys, docks, barge landings, dredging, scientific research, and filming under authority of AS 38.05.850.•Review, process, and adjudicate Kasilof River Mooring Buoy General Permits under authority of AS 38.05.850, while working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Coast Guard to manage commercial use in the Lower Kasilof River. •Review, notice (public & agency), process, and adjudicate Trapping Cabin Permits and Trapping Cabin Construction Permits under authority of AS 38.95.075 and AS 38.95.080.•Administer the ADNR/DMLW’s Abandoned and Derelict Vessel Program. Record and maintain a database of shipwrecks and abandoned vessels throughout the Southern half of the state. Represent the State in Unified Command situations with multiple other state and federal agencies. Work with responsible parties, insurance companies, and other agencies to facilitate the removal of derelict vessels. •Manage over 300 total land use authorizations using a variety of software applications including: LAS, CMS, BPM, Alaska Mapper, State of Alaska Revenue & Billing system, AllTopo, ArcMap, Excel, and Word.•Research Alaska Statutes, Alaska Administration Codes, Interagency Land Management Agreements, Land Conveyance Documents, and Area Plans and convey technical information to the public.•Inspect permit sites for compliance, create inspection reports, and work with permittees, Alaska Department of Law, and Alaska State Troopers to maintain compliance.•Interpret Aliquot Part Legal Descriptions and USGS topographic maps. •Manage other projects as assigned by the Regional Manager, such as the contract for the Business Park Wetlands tract in midtown Anchorage, AK, represent DMLW at oil spill drills around the state, and prepare presentations for the Commissioner’s and Governor’s offices on various topics.

•Review, notice (public & agency), process, and adjudicate short term Land Use Permits (LUP) and Commercial Recreation Permits (CRP) involving commercial recreation, guided hunting/fishing, scientific research, and filming under authority of AS 38.05.850.•Manage over 350 LUPs and CRPs using a variety of software applications including: LAS, CMS, BPM, Alaska Mapper, AllTopo, ArcMap, Excel, and Word.•Research Alaska Statutes, Alaska Administration Codes, Interagency Land Management Agreements, Land Conveyance Documents, and Area Plans and convey technical information to the public.•Work with other land management and government agencies (state and federal) to solve current issues/problems facing the DNR/DMLW.•Professionally correspond with permittees, interested parties, other land management and government agencies, businesses in the private sector, and the general public•Inspect permit sites for compliance, create inspection reports, and work with permittees and AST to maintain compliance.•Facilitate better management of Legislatively Designated Areas (Susitna Basin Recreation Rivers) and Administratively Designated Area (Exit Glacier Road Special Use Area).•Interpret Aliquot Part Legal Descriptions and USGS topographic maps.

•Organize and lead 8 – 14 students ages 16 – 60 on 30-day experiential learning backpacking and glacier mountaineering courses through the mountains of Alaska.•Adapt, modify and design leadership, environmental studies, and hard skills curriculum to create dynamic, effective, and empowering classes that fulfill course outcomes.•Coach students individually and in groups to achieve performance expectations and expedition goals; facilitate debrief meetings, feedback sessions, and group dynamics.•Further the professional development of co-instructors.•Evaluate and bear responsibility for all risk management and safety decisions.

•Managed rations budget of $120,000; supervised rations assistant and multiple interns •Used excel to create budget tracking, inventory tracking and ration planning spreadsheets. •Worked with course instructors to plan rations for approximately 50-55 courses/season.•Instructed and facilitated students in the packing of rations for 15-18 people for 30 day courses in 2.5-3 hours daily.•Organized and maintained inventory, placed food item orders biweekly through commercial vendors, and maintained clean and safe food handling environment.
