Im a former police officer with 12 years of experience with many years of supervisory experience as well as criminal investigations experience. After being a self taught software developer over the last 12 years, I obtained an AAS degree in Computer Information Technology - Programming at the local community college. I graduated in December 2022 with honors and a 4.0 GPA. I learned some cool IT stuff about how binary works, algorithms and complexity, networks, and some other stuff besides writing code that I would've never thought to introduce myself to when I was self teaching myself to code. I have some experience working on projects of my own and I've created some cool stuff over the years.I transitioned from Law Enforcement to Tech and it has been an interesting experience. The core values and discipline that I acquired in law enforcement have transitioned nicely to tech. I’m able to be disciplined with my tasks, communicate with my management, and drive myself to learn more everyday. I am currently in a multifaceted developer role, where my responsibilities range from building websites to developing custom plugins and managing backend data. This experience has allowed me to significantly enhance my design skills and deepen my understanding of website design principles and user experience (UX) philosophy. On the technical side, I frequently write PHP code to extend WordPress and WooCommerce functionalities, especially when off-the-shelf plugins fall short of our needs.I find it particularly rewarding to support small businesses by providing tailored solutions that help them succeed. In addition to web development, I work on a full-stack Next.js application for a manufacturing company to optimize their production cycle. I also serve as the lead consultant and developer for a cryptocurrency project, where I oversee the implementation of crypto transaction validators on AWS infrastructure.Outside of work, I continue to explore and learn different programming languages and tech stacks. I really enjoy creating and solving challenges associated with technology. I plan to continue building upon my tech skills and advance in the tech industry.
