I am a junior-year student at the Kelley School of Business majoring in Accounting, co-majoring in International Business, and double minoring in Mandarin Chinese and French. I am passionate about leading others, collaborating, and making a difference in my community. I have demonstrated these abilities in various positions, including my site leader position in the Alternative Break Program, where I was selected to lead a group of students on a volunteer trip in Costa Rica to support wildlife conservation. I planned logistics with the international volunteer organization Love Volunteers, ensuring participants were well-informed about the volunteer trip's purpose, ultimately contributing to the preservation of ten indigenous animal groups in the Alajuela Province. Furthermore, I have taken pride in being a part of Ballet Folklorico de IU, a traditional Mexican dance group that performs dances from a variety of Mexican regions. I served as treasurer and managed financial decisions by monitoring bank statement history sheets in Excel, requesting funds from the IU Funding Board, and purchasing necessary costumes so that members were provided with proper dance attire. Now, at Indiana University, I continue to seek new opportunities to expand my professional and personal leadership and collaboration. I am broadening my career knowledge by enrolling in business courses, Mandarin Chinese courses, and French courses, and uplifting my student organizations. As Co-Director of the Corporate Relations Committee in Women in Business, I communicate with more than 30 corporate partners to facilitate professional networking events and opportunities between our partners and the organization's members interested in a variety of business industries. Additionally, as the Co-President and an Instructor of Ballet Folklorico de IU, I am leading more than 40 dance members through organizational strategy in choreography and event coordination. By working closely with my board within the past two years, we have been able to increase overall student interest from 12 dancers in 2022 to more than 40 dancers in 2024.I plan to increase my international experience next semester by studying abroad at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. To continue developing my communication, collaboration, and problem-solving strengths, I look forward to engaging in internships and international business opportunities at IU in the future. Ultimately, I see myself pursuing a career in a global firm, working for an organization that aligns with my values and community development.
