LifeBankUSA - a division of Celgene - is a cord blood bank. I work in the Materials Management group of our Technical Operations department, performing various functions including receipt and reivew of our collections (both for private banking and donation), checking for adherence to collection protocols, and then distributed to the various labs for processing. I also perform inventory and receiving functions to ensure a continual and uninterrupted supply of raw materials and components for procesing, compose new and revise outdated SOPs, conduct non-conformance investigations, provide training for staff, review charts for units received and checked-in, and assist with other tasks and projects as directed. I work closely with the department manager to supervise and direct the staff in daily tasks and responsibilities.

As a Lab Tech II, I worked in the Tissue Engineering department manufacturing a tissue product from human amniotic membrane. I also composed new and revised old SOPs, conducted batch record review, provided training to staff, conducted non-conformance investigations, packaged and shipped completed product to clients, and assisted in other tasks and projects as assigned.
