The primary goal of the MEL advisor is to work with Oxfam and its partners across the globe to design and deliver quality programmes that achieve impact and remain accountable to the people Oxfam works with. To achieve this I provide technical support to strategic and programme design processes as well as business development opportunities. Throughout the lifecycle of programmes funded by Oxfam Australia I provide direct and remote technical support and capacity building to the delivery of high quality initiatives. I work closely with colleagues globally and in Australia to promote learning and knowledge management and facilitate processes related to the capture, analysis, dissemination and access to programmatic data and knowledge.

The Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting Manager is a key position in the Mercy Corps Turkey program responsible for cross-cutting programmatic information management, monitoring and evaluation, ensuring that information collected is reflected upon, used to improve ongoing programs, and is incorporated into consistently high quality reports and proposal development. The MEL manager is responsible for developing (in coordination with project staff), coordinating, maintaining and constantly improving the nation-wide M&E system, as well as training national M&E staff in each office. I regularly conduct project site visits to provide hands-on training to field staff on how to capture and organize information for accurate documentation and reporting and assist the program implementation team in timely and accurate reporting to donors. I am also in charge of database development and information management systems implementation.

I ensure that Evidence Action M&E practices are informed by the latest thinking and best practice in measuring impact and ensuring learning. The Senior Associate, Learning and Communication is the driving force of the Learning and Communication delivery team for Evidence Action’s Africa Region. I was the first hire in learning and communications for the East Africa Operations. I set up protocols and strategies for communications between programme teams and the monitoring department, the design of M&E frameworks, collection of data, and reporting templates. I aim to ensure data-driven decision making and program innovation for 5 development programs reaching over 7 million people in East Africa.

The work employs a Making Markets work for the Poor (M4P) approach to exploring the agricultural inputs sector in Kenya. • Proposal writing DFID IMSAR-Rwanda “selected market systems work more effectively for poor farmers and MSMEs”. Winning bid 600,000 GBP. • Proposal writing Tullow-Uganda “Pilot Agricultural Development Programme”: Provision of Design & Implementation of a pilot programme to support Agriculture Development in the Albertine region• Proposal writing Kenya Extractives Programme: Provision of Design & Implementation of a pilot programme to support Agriculture Development in the Albertine region.

As a representative of the Australian Youth Ambassedors for Development Program, I worked with IRIM to strengthen staff’s capacity in designing, implementing and reporting on research, training or advocacy projects. I conducted training among researchers on research practices and methodologies, including assessment tools and together we are developing a knowledge transfer plan for research skills.I contributed to improving staff’s overall skills set by developing competencies in communication, team building and project management. Within my role, I also facilitated the strengthening of networks with local and international organizations and stakeholders and provided strategic advice about attracting funding for IRIM's research interests. I was also the lead researcher on a number of projects focused in the area of public health.

Conducted experimental procedures, data analyses and managed the laboratory. Participated in 11 different projects on attention, cognitive neuroscience, developmental psychology, perception and multitasking. Performed literary searches.The goal of many of the studies I worked on was to identify the regions of the brain that are causally involved in attentional limitations, such as the 'attentional blink'. The scope of my studies involved multiple mixed methods of data acquisition used in experimental neuroscience including TMS, electroencephalography (EEG), functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), response analysis and survey design/collection.

My primary role involved running experimental procedures, data analyses and evidence-based research design, evaluation and reporting when studying attention and cognition. Within this role there was a strong emphasis on experimental design and the ethical treatment of participants when performing experiments or interviews. I performed literary searches and statistical analyses for all data collected in our experiments and was in charge of the organization of materials, testing equipment and administration of the lab. I often presented my research in peer-based laboratory groups and have publications awaiting review in several peer reviewed journals.

This longitudinal study commenced in 1981 with 8556 interviews of pregnant participants and remains ongoing. The main focus of the study has been the assessment of health and social outcomes for both mother and child. The various waves of the study throughout this period encompassed the prenatal, postnatal, childhood, adolescent and young adults periods of the cohort children. In 2012, we aimed to assess the specific developmental path and risk factors for conditions such as obesity, metabolic syndrome and diabetes, and mental health in the cohort of children, now 30 years old, by conducting a series of semi-structured interviews and mental and physical assessments.
