Independently developing and optimizing microscopy and colony forming assays to assess bacteriophage effectiveness on pathogenic Staphylococcus aureus in non-traditional medias

In the lab of David A. Pearce, I investigated synthetic genetic interactions to establish a yeast model for the human lysosomal storage disorder Cystinosis.In the lab of Harris A. Gelbard, I helped establish a TIRF based assay to study the effects of toxic HIV proteins on the membrane dynamics of the dopamine transporter in human cell lines.

CHM 131 (First semester Freshmen Chemistry) and BIO210 (Molecular Cell Biology)

As an Amgen scholar in the lab of Allan Basbaum, I used the mouse model to study the effects of microglia activation on the development of mechanical hypersensitivity to pain. Techniques used include behavioral studies and immunocytochemistry.
