I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours (First Class) from La Trobe University in 2018. I majored in History, while also completing units in creative writing, art history, and Spanish. I received the Vice Chancellor's Award for Academic Excellence in recognition of my high marks, especially in my final Honours Thesis.I completed my Master of Cultural Heritage at Deakin University in 2020, maintaining a high-distinction average throughout the course. I was one of five finalists nominated for the Roslyn Lawry Award for Excellence in Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies for 2020. During my course, I completed a short-term internship at the RMIT Design Archives, where I catalogued and re-housed works produced by Mexican fashion illustrator Alfredo Bouret. I also conducted historical and contextual research of these works, liaised with other staff at the Archive and with an independent curator in Mexico, and produced written work on several items within the collection.In November 2020, I began work at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court as an Administrative Officer. My day-to-day work involved managing highly confidential and sensitive subpoena documents and audio recordings of matters heard at the Court. This included logging and filing subpoenas, creating copies of audio recordings upon request and providing them to relevant parties, retrieving and producing required records as needed at Court; during or prior to hearings, by magistrates, lawyers, police, or affected parties. I also created bookings to inspect records, and reviewed and destroyed records where in line with the relevant policies and acts.In March 2022 I began working as a Records & Archives Analyst at the Public Record Office of Victoria. I am currently working with a small team on a contact to transfer, assess, re-house, and document a vast collection of documents from the Geological Survey of Victoria. This includes maps and plans, data, reports, and publications dating back to the 1850s.I have a strong interest in the fields of historical research, archives, cultural heritage management, heritage interpretation, and curatorship. I am passionate about history, and find real joy in learning and sharing knowledge. I have strong research and writing skills, both creative and academic, and an eye for detail. Through extensive hospitality experience I have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. My skills in records management, data entry, and archival processes are demonstrated through my work at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court and the Public Record Office.
