About Rebecca Nichloson

Rebecca Nichloson has 15+ years of creative and executive-level leadership experience; including in organizational consulting, operations strategy, communications and project development; as well as expertise in narrative and culture change, human-centered design, and cultural advocacy. She is the creator of the Kaleidoscope Project (a human-centered design approach to building multicultural solidarity through literature) and has designed/taught writing courses on narrative structure and character development at the Loft Literary Center and Minneapolis College of Art and Design. She is an award-winning playwright, creative writer, performer, and Chief Executive Officer of Cleveland-Harris — a fiscally-sponsored cultural advocacy & public imagination project.Rebecca has served as Director of Communications at the Center for Cultural Power, Director of Communications at the African American Leadership Forum, and led digital communications at Panorama Global, and other national organizations that advance social change. She has worked in the civic tech sector; developing comms plans and content for initiatives centered on tech for public good, including leading communications for a civic tech nonprofit in support of a premier New York-based civic tech competition that has produced 500+ tech innovations and $10 million dollars in seed funding toward solutions that empower New York City communities.Rebecca has also written, edited, and developed content (digital & print) for Earl G. Graves LTD — a multimedia company and publisher of Black Enterprise, a premier business & wealth-building magazine with readership of over 2 million (centering entertainment, career development, health, technology, and education). Moreover, she’s worked at The National Center for Disaster Preparedness, Columbia Journalism School, Miller Theatre, and Community Impact.
