I lead workshops for school children at Brooklands as well as family activities. The workshops involved creating planes and explaining the forces involved as well as other scientific workshops. Moreover, the family activities can involve object handling which I really enjoy, because I love handling artefacts from the past. In the workshops, I need to communicate clearly to the children the various steps involved in the activities and how it relates to their curriculum. I routinely lead workshops for over 30 children. I also need to be flexible if the school arrives late such as changing the timing of the various information to the end rather than the beginning. Moreover, the school has cancelled so I need to find other tasks to fulfil while working. If the school arrives late, I work with the volunteer tour guides to have a different timetable and organise when the schools will do the various activities.

I welcomed visitors to the National Archives along with invigilating the exhibition. Through this job, I regularly answered various enquiries visitors had such as how to receive a Reader's ticket or how to access the 1921 census and National Archive catalogue. I also worked on the shop using the Shopify system covering shifts. Moreover, I worked with various departments such as the events department to welcome visitors. I signed in visitors using the event system Eventbrite. I regularly dealt with any complaints that visitors might have. I needed to communicate effectively with visitors their various options.
