Selected to participate in the Civic Innovation Academy in Austin (10% acceptance rate) in November 2023. I explored emerging human-centered technology such as 3D-printed housing and sustainable energy systems, then presented a solutions pitch for Austin’s public transportation.

Selected to be a Fellow in the first-ever Civic Innovation Academy at Georgetown University (11% acceptance rate). During the week-long Academy, I met with legislators, visited the U.S. Department of State, and learned how to innovatively solve pressing civic problems. My research on AI's effects on foreign policy and the usage of data analytics within the Department of State won first place in the program.

Studied in the Sejong Korea Scholars Program offered by Stanford University and Stanford SPICE, an intensive course on Korean history and U.S.-Korean relations. Only 20 students across the U.S. are selected to participate per year. I wrote my final paper for the course on the historical and cultural significance of Hangul, the Korean alphabet. Also researched peacebuilding implications of the Korean DMZ.

Songdo International Business District, Incheon, South Korea

Out of thousands of applicants, I was selected by the U.S. Department of State to represent the U.S. on the National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) Korean summer program. For six weeks, I studied in South Korea and completed the program’s intensive Korean language course.

I was 1 of the 40 students from across the U.S. selected to complete the Department of State’s intensive virtual NSLI-Y language program for Korean.
