About Red Mclaughlin

Having studied and worked as part of the leisure and well-being industry for more than 10 years I would say I have a great passion for fitness, health, well-being and leisure activities. An eclectic and driven personality I am organised and thrive on working under pressure to deadlines, a born net-worker ,sales is the common denominator within my work roles ,as even as a teacher your have to sell your subject to the students, retain their interest and enable them to gain the results required.I trained as a contemporary dancer and continue to enjoy practice and watching dance. From my training I went on to train as a gym and fitness class instructor and personal trainer. This knowledge of the human body spurred me to go on to take my Master in dance Science.Since then I have worked within a Secondary school teaching about wellness, fitness and sport and have worked and nurtured links with outside agencies to support this. I also chaperoned excursions including a week-long trip to wales with 14-22yr olds on a boxing training camp, which was a great experience. I have worked within the health sales industry whilst training as a reflexologist and as a Sports Centre Manager in Brighton progressing to Head of Schools at a renowned privately own chain of performing arts schools based across Sussex, this position led me to manage numerous members of staff, and produce events such as awards ceremonies, showcases and grand concerts shown in venues in London, Brighton and Edinburgh. Since leaving the performing arts industry in 2017 I have retrained as a Psychological Wellbeing practitioner and am currently a Lead within Brighton and Hove Wellbeing
