Acting as a support to teacher’s when working one-to-one with students as well as working a group setting has helped to build my confidence when contributing to the delivery of the curriculum. Through working in different schools and settings I have had the chance to meet and work with people from a variety of backgrounds. Working mainly one-to-one with students that need extra support in the classroom has allowed me to build professional relationships and help pupils develop and achieve to their highest potential. Helping children in their studies and with their learning, playing and social development provides me with a sense of job satisfaction. - Experience in supporting children with special needs and also from troubled backgrounds - Delivering interventions such as Toe by Toe, Rainbow Reading, Phonics phase 5 and Shine. - I am able to provide the support, supervision and feedback in relation to the pupil’s progress to establish a constructive, interactive relationship, tailored to teacher guidance and pupil development. - Offer support where needed and encourage self-esteem, trust and confidence.

I have worked part-time within a gym for over 7 years. Within this time my duties and responsibilities have grown. My main duties include;- Face to face appointments.- Inductions- Equipment maintenance- Developing personal gym programs- Working with the community to provide relevant health and fitness services- Promotion and advertising

Anns Grove Primary School

Having worked alongside an excellent learning mentor at Anns Grove Primary School I feel I have developed a flexible approach to my teaching and mentoring, and I am able to adapt and be responsive to children’s differing needs. During my time at Anns Grove I worked with children who had behaviour difficulties and quite quickly was able to connect and build rewarding relationships, leading to improved educational behaviour. I have confidence in my ability to respond positively to constantly changing challenges. S.A.M. learning activities were in place at Anns Grove Primary School and I have supported children to access a range of internet resources and can appreciate the help this gives the children in not only the core subjects but also in their interactive development and computing skills. I have produced morning maths books and delivered pre lesson support on a one to one basis as well as lunchtime computer clubs. Having been in a school environment, my involvement in staff meetings, Ofsted preparation etc means I am fully aware of my role and what is expected of me. Knowing the health and safety requirements, child safety etc, was an advantage when accompanying the children on visits to Western Park Museum, the English Institute of Sport for a dance module, and Sheffield Hallam University. I have also taught phase 6 phonics and prepared phonics lessons myself, whilst also leading rainbow reading activities with children that were identified for improvements in their reading.

The degree had modules that covered varying aspects of physical education and youth sport within the curriculum and the country as a whole.
