Found using a playlist based treasure hunt. This culminated in the coordination of a high profile, top secret, all inclusive event for 250 lucky guests. I was self-employed during my role as Project Manager for Boomsatsuma. The organisation was funded by and supported by North Somerset Council and The Arts Council . The idea was to build an educational programme that empowered young people aged 16-25 to develop their creativity and subsequently showcase their talents regionally. We provided studio facilities and designed a vehicle of 6 annual projects working with live clients that covered several creative disciplines. Any young person could… Show more I was self-employed during my role as Project Manager for Boomsatsuma. The organisation was funded by and supported by North Somerset Council and The Arts Council . The idea was to build an educational programme that empowered young people aged 16-25 to develop their creativity and subsequently showcase their talents regionally. We provided studio facilities and designed a vehicle of 6 annual projects working with live clients that covered several creative disciplines. Any young person could get involved voluntarily to gain experience for a CV, or to build a portfolio of professional work to help get into higher/further education or the workplace. Videos of projects can be seen in the attached media.An example project is 'Mainstream'. An idea that allowed unsigned musical talent in the South West to audition each month for access to our creative services including free professional studio time. In 6 months 'Mainstream' achieved:- Over 10,000 online views.- 7,200 Band photographs- Empowered 122 performing artists and crew.- 56 filmed interviews with auditioning bands.- Delivery of 48 hours of studio time for young musicians.- 16.4 years average age of participants.- 3 tours- 3 festivalsMy final project for Boomsatsuma was a commission from North Somerset Council to co-ordinate a festival for young people and families. An event budget of £120,000 provided a culmination of two year's worth of projects that showcased all the young people we had worked with and mentored. Young bands we had promoted through 'Mainstream' filled the main stage whilst our 2D and 3D artists, theatrical performers and filmmakers filled the other stages and galleries. The free festival attracted 12,000 people over 3 days and was a huge success. My strengths of organisation and leadership come from these experiences. Boomsatsuma have now developed further and are the largest single employer of creative apprentices and interns in the South West. Show less
