At Disney Branded Television, Reena restructured two teams and managed all aspects of franchise development and current for live action Disney Channel (6-12) and Disney+ (teens, families & adults). She worked across all businesses: Marketing, BA, Production, Research, Programming, Publishing, PR & Consumer Products. Highlights include: Cafe Emmy-winning Mysterious Benedict Society w/ Tony Hale; Santa Clauses w/ Tim Allen; American Born Chinese w/ Michelle Yeoh; upcoming Percy Jackson by Jon Steinberg and Dan Shotz, and the new Doctor Who by Russell Davies and Bad Wolf. While at DBT, She was a Cynopsis Women of the Year as well as on Bob Iger's Creative Council--established to create best-of-class practices for inclusive projects and talent. She also represented Disney at a summit with lawmakers in Washington, DC . At 20th TV Studios, Reena was SVP of Current Programming. At 20th, she oversaw a slate of comedies & dramas for broadcast and streaming platforms (Fox, Hulu, Disney+ and Netflix), including The Resident (Amy Holden Jones & Todd Harthan), The Exorcist (Rolin Jones, Sean Crouch and Jeremy Slater), Pitch (Dan Fogelman) and The Drop Out (Liz Meriwether). A strong presenter and collaborator, she worked with the international team to present 20th TV’s slate to the global sales force & buyers at MIPCOM. Before 20th TV, she was the VP of Development at USA/UCP. Her shows included: In Plain Sight and Covert Affairs. She also brought Rush (Tom Ellis; EP: Gina Matthews; EP: Grant Scharbo) and Colony (Josh Holloway; EP: Carlton Cuse; EP: Ryan Condal) to series. Reena began in scripted at Disney Channel Original Movies. Highlights: Camp Rock (Jonas Bros & Demi Lovato), The Cheetah Girls: One World (Raven Symone; EP: Debra Martin Chase), Princess Protection Program (Selena Gomez & Demi Lovato) and Jump In (Keke Palmer & Corbin Bleu) remain among the top 5 highest premiering DCOMs. She also worked as a creative executive with Disney Channel in India and EMEA. Reena began her career at ABC Network News for World News Tonight, Good Morning America and Nightline. Highlights: War coverage in Iraq and ABC News political producer on Howard Dean's Presidential campaign.Reena received a BA in English Literature from Boston College. She is co-creator of SALON’s mentorship program--dedicated to supporting the next generation of South Asian talent. Her passion is championing diverse artists so that they can contribute their perspectives to the global TV landscape. She believes that stories can entertain and impact culture.
