As a team we defined how big the problem in terms of not meeting customer specifications and how much does that cost a company in monetary terms. We then looked at data collection and validate if it is reliable, and then measured the process over a period of time.Statisitcal Process Capability studies were done to determine the process stability over the period of time that we established as a base line data using Minitab 14, we were then able to reduce the scope of the project to specific parts which had the most stock shortages. Brainstorming coupled with data collected on the probable causes was used to determine which had the biggest impact to production. Ultimately the few inputs were found as significant and corrective actions as well as control plans were taken. Show less
