I collate and process customer orders, ensuring delivery deadlines are met; which involves planning the daily production, making sure all departments can handle the workload. Recipe sheets are printed daily, ensuring adequate batches of product are produced to maximise throughput. I have recently been working closely with Lean Business Solutions to improve efficiency within production and order lead time. My technical role makes me responsible for the maintenance of the Quality Manual and updating all the documentation. This includes completing internal fabrication and housekeeping audits; updating all HACCP documentation; approving new suppliers through questionnaires.I create finished product specifications which include nutritional information and allergy information. From this I create labels and making certain they meet all current legislation.I organise external microbiological testing and internal organoleptic testing, which helps us to identify quality and shelf life. As part of the NPD team I help develop new products and head-up innovation. I ensure all ingredients used meet our quality standards whilst making sure all new products are positively released before sale, by means of taste testing and full production trials. I deal with all customer complaints, corrective actions and re-calls; therefore a robust traceability procedure must be in place and tested.With the help of a great team I have achieved SALSA accreditation for the company.
