Casa Arena Blanca is a 117 bed skilled nursing and long term care facility with a secure Alzheimer's/dementia unit. As Activities Director I coordinate activities programming to meet the social, spiritual, creative, physical, emotional and cognitive needs of our residents and patients across a varied, ever-changing population. This involves creating two separate calendars each month, and budgeting my staff and supplies/equipment to offer 450+ different activities throughout each month. I work with volunteers to bring the community into our building, and coordinate weekly outings to help our residents maintain their independence as best they are able. I work with our residents and/or their families to complete MDS Section F interviews and assessments, and create care plans specific to the needs and preferences of each of our residents.

As Promotions Director I created the project logo; wrote, edited, published four newsletters; created a 16-page booklet detailing history, needs, and future vision; generated various promotional printings; and raised over $300,000 in pledges in a three-month period.
