Studying the relationship between ground ULF waves and solar wind conditions. Research also looks at the evolution of the geomagnetic field and how it may affect space weather and space climate in the long run.
Aalto University Of Technology, Department Of Radio Science And Engineering
I study long-term evolution of solar and geomagnetic activity. Specifically, I study ultra-low frequency (ULF) fluctuations in the solar wind and within the terrestrial magnetosphere. I do this by performing Fourier and power spectral analysis on data from both spacecraft and ground-based magnetometers. Comparing results from different times, patterns and interesting periods can be identified and chosen for detailed study.
