After being a space event specialist for several years, I became a co-owner and director of the leading global space industry events calendar in 2024. As co-owner I am responsible for the quality of the database, the value-add services to event organisers and attendees, our social media coverage, our news blog, and since October 2024 for the Space Agenda TV sub-brand.

As a freelance social media specialist for space and space events I specialise in bringing tangible value to space industry marketing, awareness and outreach campaigns. From strategy to training and implementation I help organisations get the right message to the right audience at the right time. With a lot of experience with large and global space events, I help find more attendees, more exhibitors, more speakers and more sponsors.

Open Cosmos aims to make space accessible to anyone, by making satellite technology simpler, cheaper and faster to develop. Open Cosmos was founded in 2015 and developed from a humble startup in the ESA Business Incubation Centre, to a scaleup in the UK Tech Nation Top 30, growing into a new force in the European newspace economy in just a few years.

In the summer of 2018, the Netherlands host to the 31st edition of the prestigious International Space University Space Studies Program. This nine-week post-graduate program for space professionals is held at a different location every year, with a different host team. I was the head of an interdisciplinary team organizing all local elements of the program, in close coordination with the Local Organizing Committee (of which I acted as secretary) and the central ISU campus in Strasbourg, France.

As Department Chair for the Space Studies Program I am responsible for one of seven departments that make up an important part of the 9-week post-graduate summer program of the International Space University. The Space Management and Business Department is a 2-week specialization in the program, where participants learn about the basics of managing an organization in the space industry. The emphasis of this specialization is split over two major elements: management in a large space corporation and entrepreneurship in new space.The department will reflect the 3 I's of ISU: International, Intercultural and Interdisciplinary.As Department Chair I am one of 12 ISU Faculty responsible for the success of the flagship program of the University. The SSP17 program will be hosted at the Cork Institute of Technology in Cork, Ireland, from 26 June to 25 August 2017.

[Part-time, volunteer] Associate member of research group Sustainability in Hospitality and Tourism, at the Stenden International Hotel Management School, of lector Prof. Dr. Elena Cavagnaro in Leeuwarden. In my associate member role I am the linking pin between the hospitality and tourism business and the Stenden Hotel School Bachelor and Master programs. In addition I support the research group in their research and publication goals by doing guest lectures, writing academic papers and organizing conferences.

[Project, summer 2016 only] As Team Project Chair for the Space Studies Program I am responsible for one of three team projects that make up an important part of the 8-week post-graduate summer program of the International Space University. In this team project a group of about 30 international space professionals will spend 3 weeks researching a space-related topic, with the objective to propose a space solution to an urgent societal problem. This solution will reflect the 3 I's of ISU: International, Intercultural and Interdisciplinary.As Team Project Chair I am one of 12 ISU Faculty responsible for the success of the flagship program of the University. The SSP16 program will be hosted at the Technion Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel, from 12 July to 1 September 2016.

As a Teaching Associate for the Space Studies Program 2015 I spent 10 weeks at Ohio University, supporting participants of team project "Tracking Fracking". This project looked at Earth Observation and Remote Sensing solutions for tracking the impact of hydraulic fracturing activities on the environment. In addition I lead workshops on space education and outreach, as well as classes on new space business models. As part of the external relations team I was in charge of all social media activities (blogs and social media platforms) for the program.

World Space Week is an international celebration of space, science and technology, and its contribution to the betterment of the human condition. The United Nations General Assembly declared in 1999 that World Space Week will be held each year from October 4-10.The Executive Director manages the large global network of national coordinators and volunteers and represents the World Space Week Association at the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) in the Committee On the Peaceful Use of Outer Space (UN-COPUOS) and in the Space Societies Committee (SSC) of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF).Under Remco's leadership World Space Week almost tripled in size, bringing the number of parallel events from 600 in 2012 to 1,600 in 80 countries in 2014, reaching many tens of millions of people.World Space Week Association is a registered 501(c)3 charity in the state of Texas, USA
