About Mark Rempel

I'm an economist working at the intersection of macro, finance and industrial organization. I have a joint PhD in Economics and Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and am a former economist of the Bank of Canada. My main research agenda is trying to better understand how frictions associated with idea-based, intangible assets, shape investment, competition and economic aggregates like economic growth. I also have previous and on-going research on interbank markets, monetary policy implementation and housing markets.
