I'm an economist working at the intersection of macro, finance and industrial organization. I have a joint PhD in Economics and Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and am a former economist of the Bank of Canada. My main research agenda is trying to better understand how frictions associated with idea-based, intangible assets, shape investment, competition and economic aggregates like economic growth. I also have previous and on-going research on interbank markets, monetary policy implementation and housing markets. Cleaned and prepared data from a variety of sources utilizing Stata and Excel (VBA's). Developed and implemented a dataset creation strategy to track the historical entry/exits of payday lenders across Canada with over 80% matching rate of the cross-section from official sources.
