JR Project Manager at Shell currently assigned to North Caspian Production Operations Company (NCPOC) working from Rijswijk (NL) and Atyrau, Kazakhstan.Kashagan project description:The Kashagan project is one of the largest and most exciting oil and gas projects in the world. The full Kashagan development will bring on-stream a capacity of 1.5 million bbl/d. The project has unique challenges in terms of size, high-pressure sour gas, land-locked location and shallow water semi-arctic conditions. The Phase 2 Offshore project, for which Shell is taking responsibility, is larger than any previous Shell offshore project. Hubs 2 and 3 will have a combined capacity of 500,000 bbl/d and will handle some 2 Bscf/d of sour gas. The operator-ship of the Kashagan project has recently been re-organized by the venture partners (new operating model). Operator-ship of the venture will be assigned to NCPOC a joint venture company between Shell and KMG acting as an agent to NCOC the holder of the PSA and owned by the venture partners. Other agents are Shell Development Kazakhstan, responsibility for the Phase 2 Offshore Facilities. Exxon will be responsible for Phase 2 Drilling and AGIP KCO will be responsible for the Phase 1 (Experimental) Project and the Phase 2 Onshore Facilities. To meet its venture obligations NCPOC has established an office in Atyrau. Working for NC Production Operations Company.My current role as a Dedicated Support Engineer I am the IT focal point for NCPOC .In this role I'm in a small team responsible for supporting the +/- 800 staff members in the NL and Kazakhstan with their IT challenges. This varies from functional support to providing training sessions. Desk-side support and setting-up video conference meeting between the different sites.I have visited Kazakhstan several times for my work as IT Infrastructure Consultant.My tasks: Coordination meetings with Agip KCO, contractor site visits, site surveys, provide onsite support and instruct and train teammembers with the procedures.
