Our continual goal is to have students engage in and benefit from our strong sense of personal and educational support by participating in future years as advisors and/or guest speakers. As SLMs, we conduct a course for students interested in research- where we teach them fundamental laboratory skills such as Pipetting, Gel Electrophoresis, and PCR - Develop research training modules with the techniques theory, a protocol, and an assessment through a practice exercise - Coordinate with senior leaders to analyze lab safety and develop training protocols - Design protocol with errors to know the cutoff from master sample data - Practice advanced lab skills to teach students

Part of the “Real Vegan Cheese” team, the goal is to produce synthetic cheese without the use of any animals but using a yeast, K. lactis, to produce the proteins naturally found in cow’s milk in an economically viable way.
