Edward Chan is a junior at UC Davis majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.From 2020 to 2023, Edward was an intern at StopWaste, facilitating litter cleanups, tree planting events, and forums presenting his high school’s rooftop garden he helped build. Edward was also an intern at the Brower Dellums Institute, presenting a creek restoration project to impoverished community members. He also distributed health and school supplies to lessen family burden.Beginning in 2022, Edward was regularly employed in the environmental sector by being an Energy Specialist Driver, installing energy and water efficient equipment while also training others to do so. His impressive performance and enthusiasm in helping others live in healthier environments earned him Employee of the Year. At UC Davis, Edward was also a transit driver at ASUCD Unitrans, transporting up to 100 passengers per hour around Davis, California. Edward has completed lab courses in general and organic chemistry. He will begin studying microbiology and biochemistry. Upon completion of his degree, he plans to work or pursue a graduate degree in environmental chemistry as well as study real estate and finance in public and non-profit settings. In the meantime, he is a maintenance assistant at UC Davis Student Housing and Dining Services. He maintains and troubleshoots appliances and rearranges furniture to ensure a safe and comfortable stay for dorm residents. He is also interning with Project Destined, where he learns about real estate fundamentals, property valuation, deal financing, financial modeling, and market research. He will participate with professionals at US Bank to build 10-year cash flow projections and sensitivity analysis on Canvas LA Apartments, and present his analyses at live real estate deals.Edward maintains a positive attitude daily, goes to gym, is an Outreach Coordinator at UC Davis Men’s Club Water Polo, hangs out with his friends, and learns how to cook Asian style food.
