I pursued a major in Criminal Justice at the University of Northern Colorado, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2017. I gained valuable knowledge and skills in research, analysis, data collection, and report writing, as well as an understanding of human behavior, social issues, and legal systems. I continued my education by attending the Pueblo Community College Law Enforcement Academy in fall of 2017. I successfully completed the academy to become P.O.S.T certificate for the State of Colorado thru Dec. 2020.I applied my academic background and skills to my internship as an Investigator Intern for the Colorado State Public Defender's Office (Greeley), where I worked with attorneys, investigators, paralegals, and social workers to assist clients in their legal cases. My responsibilities included writing case reports, scheduling and conducting interviews, and using various computer programs, such as CMDB, Data Access, Outlook, and Microsoft Word. I also developed effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in this role.I continued to develop my career and knowledge while working with the State of Colorado, DHESM, as a Safe2Tell Analyst, where I worked mostly independently gathering information from reporting party, digitally analysis all web/app-based report, and inputting a report into the P3 system. During my time as a Safe2Tell Analyst, I gained extra duties that included training new team members and preparing them to become successful as a member of the Safe2Tell team. I also helped with administrative duties such as continuing to update all contacts within the P3 system which included all school personnel and law enforcement individuals. I continued to develop strong communication, time management and problem-solving skills in this role. Currently, I am the Intake Case Specialist with the Office of University Rights and Responsibilities with Arizona State University, where I support Complex Case Managers in creating initial case files, email each complainant and conducting intake interviews. I leverage my communication and expertise to ensure efficient and effective coordination and collaboration among the Complex Case Managers, the complainants, and the internal departments. I also handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. I enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, where I can continuously learn and contribute to the success of the department.
