As an Acting Magistrate at the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development (DOJ), I apply my legal knowledge and skills to uphold the rule of law and deliver justice to the people of South Africa. I have been in this role for over a year and a half, after working as an Advocate for years, where I represented clients in various criminal and civil cases. I graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of South Africa, where I developed a strong foundation in law and a passion for human rights and social justice. I have also acquired skills in case law, research, legal advising, court skills and communication, which enable me to perform my duties effectively and efficiently. I am committed to serving the public interest, ensuring fair and impartial adjudication, and contributing to the development and transformation of the judiciary. I have experience in labour law and have worked as in-house legal counsel to a large company with over 3500 employees at the time. My responsibilities included providing advice, attending courts and CCMA matters, industrial relations and working closely with the human resources department. I have been in the legal profession for more about 20 years and have acquired various skills over an extended period. I have great people skills and I am a hard and effective worker.
