Handling daily ocean export shipments from quoting until invoicing;Requesting rates from carriers, airlines, truckers, co loaders, agents etc. and quoting transport services to client according to their inquiries and needs;Providing expert advice to clients regarding logistic processes, documentation, inspections, or any other shipping questions which may arise;Booking, arranging for or confirming cargo space with carriers;Arranging pick up of cargo to port or delivery of cargo to final destination;Preparing and/or processing export declarations, including the required ‘electronic export information’;Assisting/ forwarding all necessary information and documentation to Customs Broker in order to clear shipments in accordance with U.S. government regulations;Preparing and/or processing common carrier bills of lading or other shipping documents;Issuing bills of lading or equivalent documents; shippers or consignees as required;Coordinating the movement of shipments between origin and destination;Tracking shipments and sending regular status reports to clients;

A Shipping Coordinator job is very varied and relies heavily upon good organisational and administrative skills.
