Anesthetist at St. Alexius Hospitial

I volunteer at WBS working with Birds of Prey in the Hospital Rehab area.

Walter Crawford made a drainage pond to hold the rain run off about 15 years ago. Not too much was done to make this pond useful or pleasant to visit. Well, Walter being Walter we are now working on moving forward with the pond. Trees have been felled, and new Missouri native trees, bushes and plants have been added. We have constructed an insect hotel. We have pulled, cut and cursed at truckloads of non-native Honeysuckle!!!! We put the GoPro in the pond and there are all sorts of critters in the pond as well, even salamander larvae and fingernail clams. As hard as we work to get the pond together, we also stop and enjoy the beauty of the pond. We sit quietly and KNOW that Walter approves!
