The toolkit, part of UNDP's Tsunami Project initiative, was launched on the Indian Ocean tsunami anniversary. Additionally, I led the documentation of good practices and lessons learned from country offices across Asia and the Pacific region, published in The Regional Guide for Schools to Prepare for Tsunamis. This knowledge-sharing source will help future (similar) programmes establish consistent practices efficiently. A high-level policy brief was drafted outlining how pandemics such as COVID-19 can adversely affect schools' disaster preparedness and resilience and offers opportune recommendations to prioritize integrating health emergencies into multi-hazard preparedness plans to strengthen resilience and save lives.
