René Hess is a global business process owner in the field of digitalization of industrial services and IT processes. He started his career in IA, worked in a central service function during his MBA program, support MO business for more than 8 years in several local and global functions and applies his knowledge now in the Robotics Business Area. Always technology focused he started his career with the graduation as B.Eng. in Mechatronics following his M.Sc in Innovation Technology Management as well as MBA. In parallel, he experienced at ABB hotspots and issues of a major industrial service provider for automation technology, including corporate research on service-oriented Augmented Reality and acting as an executive assistant with focus digital Installed Base Management for the Head of Service, ABB Germany.Currently, he is working in a global environment of software engineers, managers and customers managing requirements, simulation and implementation of large IT projects to trailblaze the best, digitally aided customer journey for industrial automation customers worldwide. Originally grown up bilingually / cross-culturally and being prone to South America and Europe his interests focus multicultural affairs and international business. Apart from work he keeps up with current societal issues volunteering as a next-generation platoon leader in THW, Germany’s Federal Agency for Technical Relief, proving his problem-solving capabilities under difficult preconditions in teams together to get the necessary done.
