1987-2001, Reappointed 2007-2013Responsible for the department's educational program, inclusive of staff and faculty, budget and the general welfare of students and faculty. Responsibilities included maintaining standards, policies and procedures for the department; program and curricula development, preparing and completing forms, surveys and annual reports, faculty assignments, faculty and students recruitment; and supervising library acquisitions. While chairing the department the social work program successfully completed three reaffirmations/reaccreditations. Developed the Daemen College Seneca Babcock Program including the initiation of the Empowerment Team, and interdepartmental student service learning activities. Responsibilities also include departmental representation relative to the college community and the community at large, i.e., membership on the college affirmative action committee, educational policy committee, and moderator for the Social Work Alliance. Courses taught include Ethnicity, Race and Cultural Diversity; Introduction to Social Work; The Social Welfare Institution; Human Behavior and the Social Environment I & II; Methods of Social Work Research; Child Welfare Policies and Services; Aging: An Introduction to Gerontology; Alcoholism, Substance Abuse and Other Addictions; Contemporary Social Welfare Policy and Services; The Cultural and Psychosocial Dynamics of Medicine; Sociology of Women.
