Majority Leader Stephens is serving her 6th year in the Colorado legislature. Stephens served on the Judiciary and Business Affairs committee prior to becoming Majority Leader. Leader Stephens has received numerous honors for her work in the legislature including 2011 Colorado Springs Chamber Legislator of the Year. Singled out as one of the Denver Post's "Five Rising Stars" in the CO legislature, Stephens was elected to leadership after 7 months of office. Leader Stephens and Speaker Frank McNulty led Republicans to a House majority in November 2010. Leader Stephens serves on National Council of State Legislatures Board for the Women's Legislative Network as well as serving on the Interstate Commerce & Taxation Task Force.
