I believe government should work for people and in providing leadership to enable people to live more meaningful and productive lives. I know the moral test of government is measured in how we treat those who are in the dawn of life, the shadows of life, and the twilight of life.To be an effective public servant, you must be able to develop, nurture and maintain productive relationships with elected officials at all levels of government. Problems don't stop or stop at community borders. Since 2001, I have worked continuously to understand the issues facing legislators as well as the needs of my constituents. I have succeeded in forging effective working relationships with other lawmakers in order to pass legislation that improves the quality of life in the 7th District and in Illinois.Specialties: I am honored to share my vision and passion with the citizens of Illinois' 7th District, a district I have served with distinction since 2001. As your representative, I work to advance the interests of the people of the District. My efforts on behalf of the District has resulted in legislation that has benefited families, children, seniors, business owners, educators, healthcare workers and care-givers, the disabled, and the unemployed throughout the state of Illinois.
