About Reshmi Ann Varkey

As a Scientist B for a project of National Institute of Epidemiology (ICMR), I was involved in a collaborative project with the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre (AIMS). I apply my skills in public health, health counseling, and health promotion to conduct research and analysis, design and implement interventions, and monitor and evaluate outcomes.I pursued my Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at AIMS, where I have gained a special interest in the research areas of mental health, non-communicable diseases, and clinical trials. I have attended an international workshop on health economics, and presented my papers on the health-seeking behavior of a tribal population and the telemedicine activities during COVID-19 at the AMRITACON 2021 and 2022, respectively. I received the Promising Poster Award for my paper in 2021.As a public health aspirant, I am looking forward to working with organizations that have innovative ideas that can help improve the provision of health services for the benefit of society. I am also a dentist and a former intern at the National Health Mission, where I gained experience in community outreach and health policy. I am passionate about learning new skills and exploring new opportunities in the field of public health.
