Director Of Programs
Community Engagement Associate
Registrar/ After School Program Staff
I attended Park Day throughout my childhood, and I believe it created the crucial foundation for who I am as a person and the drive for social justice in the world. I work with and supervise groups of school-age students in school and on the playground. I facilitate student conflict and help children learn how to use "I statements" and empathy. I design activities and plan curriculum for a variety of enrichment classes during the after school program, with topics ranging from Recycled Arts to Zine Design. Additionally, I work in the registrar office managing and updating student and faculty information in our database system.
Administrative Assistant
The administrative assistant is expected to manage and maintain the NCJW and SFCAHT websites and mailing lists. They also manage the monthly and yearly billing cycles, record online payments, and prepare follow up documents for all meetings and events. In addition, they complete tasks that ease the daily flow of work in the office, such as sorting mail, refilling the supply cabinet, answering incoming calls and taking messages, file hard copies of fliers and agendas, and assisting the Executive Director in any area where there is a need.
Veteran Policy Associate
As an AmeriCorps VISTA at Swords to Plowshares, I was responsible for research, updating publications, entering data, and scheduling client meetings. In addition, I contributed to large scale projects, such as assisting the department program manager in the preparation and execution of our annual women veteran’s art show, SHOUT! For Women Veterans, as well as assist in our organization’s annual Veterans Day gala. The months leading up to both events I spent contacting venues, artists, and donors. At both events I was assigned to greet board members, set up the gallery and silent auction, work the floor, and follow up after the event. My experience multitasking, prioritizing, and working independently, allows me to harness the capabilities of making a demanding work place run smoothly, and has greatly prepared me for any future position
Program Developer
As an AmeriCorps VISTA at the Menlo Park Veteran Administration Hospital, I worked at the domiciliary program Homeless Veteran Rehabilitation Program (HVRP). During my position, I was initially hired to create and implement an alumni mentorship program. Through the completion of that project, I spent a lot of time with our staff, as well as our clients, and was able to assess the gaps and needs on both ends. As a result of that assessment, I was put in charge of organizing and administrating an all staff retreat, as well as an overhaul of the day-to-day programming schedule for the entire inpatient facility. The process reinforced my ability to work well with my coworkers, and be aware and empathetic to the needs of a variety of people,as well as take on individual responsibility competently and proficiently.
Administrative Assistant/ Peer Advisor Leader
This job required me to work both as an Administrative Assistant, as well as a Peer Advisor. As and Administrative Assistant, my duties consisted of coordinating front desk communication, answering questions from walk in clients, replying to organizational emails, file general and secure documents, schedule appointments for the academic counselors, and be organized, punctual, and professional. As a Peer Advisor, I worked mostly with students who were on academic probation or were unsure of what they wanted academically from their college experience. I was trained in a specific form of time management techniques, which I taught to students, and I was also responsible for creating development workshops for students to give them tools to increase their academic success. Toward the end of the school year, when student staff would graduate and we would need to replace them, I reviewed the resumes with the team, and we all interviewed and selected the candidates that we thought were best. I continue to use the management and organizational skills that I taught to students, and they have made me an organized, dependable, and efficient team member in any position.
