Faith Matters Network is a Womanist-led organization focused on personal and social transformation. We equip faith leaders, community organizers, and activist with resources for connection, spiritual sustainability, and accompaniment. As Founder and Executive Director of the organization, my portfolio of work includes serving as organizational lead on strategic visioning, institutional partnerships, development (fundraising), and storytelling.

Greater Nashville Area

Ordained an itinerant elder in the African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church on October 12, 2014 by the Chicago Annual Conference of the A.M.E. Church, the oldest historically African-American denomination in the United States. Currently serve on the ministerial staff of Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church in Nashville, TN.

Greater New York City Area

Each year the Nathan Cummings Foundation Fellowship grants three visionaries over $100,000 each for one year and the space to turn an inspired idea into a game-changing reality. I used the funding to launch and steward the formation of the Faith Matters Network.

Managed the daily operations SNAP Outreach and Advocacy Program a program that reached 16,000 low-income Middle Tennesseans annually.Accomplishments Include:• Increasing program participation by 20 percent during tenure• Launching and stewarding the development of Community Office Hours Initiative, a program providing local social service agencies with SNAP assistance for clients• Serving as a core member of the organizations Communications Team writing press releases, social media blasts, policy briefs, white papers and action alerts about national SNAP policy • Collaborating across program areas to craft funding proposals for the SNAP Outreach and Advocacy Program with over $75,000 in funds secured for program sustainability

•Served as a consultant to higher education institutions, working with administration, faculty, staff, students on engaging religious diversity and promoting interfaith community organizing•Facilitated strategic planning processes for clients, helping cross-institution working groups shape communications, curriculum, student programs for interfaith engagement•Created skills-based curriculum on storytelling, social media, and interfaith community organizing

Washington D.C. Metro Area

•Led organizational research on the 2010 Child Nutrition Reauthorization Bill using qualitative research methods•Analyzed state immigration legislation and produced quarterly white papers on emerging trends•Wrote policy briefs, memos, and web content on federal nutrition programs for an audience of state legislators

•Designed the Breaking Bread Program, a project to engage religiously diverse youth in food justice and advocacy•Co-authored From Charity to Justice an interfaith action guide and toolkit for combating food deserts •Facilitated community organizing workshops for residents of Nashville’s three identified food deserts
