Hi. I'm Rex, an American educator living and working in five Asian countries and Hawaii for more than two decades. I have taught ESL (English as a Second Language) at just about all levels and venues, including University of Hawaii, Tokai University, Canadian International School, Singapore. I served as head of the English Language Department, Singapore Institute of Commerce.I love what I do, but in recent years have started to become discouraged watching some of my wonderful students study English for ten years, gain a pretty good functional proficiency, land a great job, but still have difficulty making themselves understood or understanding American English as it is naturally spoken by native speakers. I know how embarrassing and frustrating communication failures and misunderstandings can be.
