Oversee works on behalf of Hydro Tasmania around ground support upgrades within a underground working Power Station. Cavern upgrades include hand held rebolting of access and penstock tunnels. Upgrading wall anchor bolts through existing crane rail beam. Installing new ground support within a suspended ceiling between cladded ceiling and rockmass some16m off the station floor.Oversee surface works including hand scaling of 140m of access road cutting down to Power Station. Once scaled installation of grouted bolts on 28m high vertical rock face.Installation of approximately 180m of Geobrugg Rock-fall fencing comprising of 3 and 5m high fencing several metres back from cliff edge. Personnel installed grouted ground anchor using Air-leg drills and working at height techniques on slopes 35 to 45 degrees. Attached to the base of the fence is a full drape mesh draped over the entire length of the 180m long rock face up to 30m in height.Installation of 45m long curved spray structure bolted to the vertical rock wall to divert water spray from spillway to make safe access to the station for water turbine re-furbishment works.
