I have worked in the field of digital web development, design, and technical SEO FOR OVER 25 years. After 4 years in the United States Navy, I began experimenting with web programming. As a freelance developer, I forced myself to learn and grow by taking on more and more challenging projects that went beyond basic web design, enhancing my skills to include backend programming and databases. When I began to oversee other programmers in 2002, I learned how to manage projects, streamline processes, and remove hurdles for my team, eventually adopting Agile methodologies for iterative software delivery.The need to stay on top of emerging technologies as it relates to Google and search has made me quite knowledgeable in the areas of SEO, including mobile search and content management. Working often with companies in lead generation, I understand the importance of conversion optimization and continued testing. In addition, I've typically taken the primary role of both product development as well as UI/UX. Today I pride myself on being a "jack of all trades" which I believe makes me a well-equipped director and manager. When I was staring out, we didn't have frontend designers, backend developers, database administrators, or DevOps. I was the “go to guy” which helped me to become quite versatile. From Bootstrap to PHP, JavaScript to MySQL, Technical SEO and Content development to AWS, I now understand most areas of the modern day web application and stack front to back. Where my greatest strength lies, however, is as a product manager. I enjoy working with teams to deliver great solutions for customers.
