Direct and supervise the activities of assigned personal in the import/export operation. Perform supervisory duties and exercise final authority at the level established by management. Ensure that established schedules of authority are properly complied with and submit reports of any charges waived/non collection. Receive information by e-mails, telexes from uplift station regarding special and ordinary cargo such as, dangerous goods, perishables, live animals, human remains, valuables etc. and pass special handling information to the Duty Officers for further processing. Check and follow up to ensure correct action is taken. Follow up personally on cargo handling to ensure that various cargos delivered on time and in sound condition to the consignees. Ensure that particular attention is given to special cargo to maintain quality standard.Maintain up-to-date knowledge and ensure staffs are familiar with procedures and regulations applicable to the company, government and airlines and issue periodic amendments as required. Particular attention is focused on regulations and procedures covering special cargo such as dangerous cargo radioactive materials, valuable livestock, perishables and heavy and bulky cargo. Ensure that consignees/shippers, freight forwarders enquiries are dealt with properly and that import/export documentation is completed on time. Ensure through procedures that any charges due for collection are correctly compiled to protect airlines and company revenue. Investigates and actions in a timely manner complaints from consignees, shippers, freight forwarders and other parties involved, ensure procedures for notifying consignees/ others of damaged /lost cargo are correctly implemented. Supervisory control over the Cargo Equipment’s and facilities to be kept in good condition for operational functions. Carry out other similar or related duties such as meeting special cargo requirements, preparing statistical reports, submit periodic operati
